چکیده

Abstract Understanding N uptake by plants, the cycle, and their relationship to soil heterogeneity has generated a great deal of interest in distribution amino-N compounds soil. Visualization spatial can provide insights into role labile plant-microbial mechanisms acquisition plant uptake, but until now, it remained technically challenging. Here, we describe novel technique visualize at root-soil interface. The is based on time-lapse amino mapping (TLAM) using membranes saturated with fluorogenic OPAME reagent ( O -phthalaldehyde β-mercaptoethanol). membrane reacts organic containing NH 2 functional group membrane-soil interface, generating fluorescent product visible under UV light detectable digital camera. TLAM amino-mapping was applied quantify concentration rhizosphere maize Zea Mays L.). However, needs be standardized different types, species, climate conditions allow wider application.

Uncultured bacterial diversity in tropical maize (Zea mays L.) rhizosphere.

Structure of maize (Zea mays L.) rhizosphere bacteria was evaluated to explore the feasibility of identifying novel rhizosphere bacteria using culture-independent method based on direct amplification and analysis of 16S rRNA gene (rRNA) sequences and especially to obtain a better understanding of bacterial community structure and diversity from maize. A total of 274 sequences were analyzed and ...

Enzymes in Metabolism of Amino Acids. VII.* Phenylalanine Ammonia-Lyase in Maize {Zea mays L.)

We have isolated an enzyme, phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (EC 4.3.1.5.), from the rootlets of Zea mays var. СЕ-IV. After partial purification by fractional salting out with ammonium sulfate and gel chromatography on Sephadex G-100, we obtained a preparation of a 40-fold greater specific activity than that of the crude homogenate. We hbve determined the ap parent Michaelis constant and the activa...

Health Benefits of Purple Corn (Zea mays L.) Phenolic Compounds

Purple corn (Zea mays L.), a grain with one of the deepest shades in the plant kingdom, has caught the attention of the food industry as it could serve as a source for alternatives to synthetic colorants. Also being rich in phenolic compounds with potential health-promoting properties, purple corn is becoming a rising star in the novel ingredients market. Although having been widely advertised ...

Aldose Reductase Inhibitory Activity of Compounds from  Zea mays L.

Aldose reductase (AR) inhibitors have a considerable therapeutic potential against diabetes complications and do not increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Through bioassay-guided fractionation of an EtOH extract of the kernel from purple corn (Zea mays L.), 7 nonanthocyanin phenolic compounds (compound 1-7) and 5 anthocyanins (compound 8-12) were isolated. These compounds were investigated by rat ...

Maize (Zea mays L.).

Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation is an effective method for introducing genes into maize. In this chapter, we describe a detailed protocol for genetic transformation of the maize genotype Hi II. Our starting plant material is immature embryos cocultivated with an Agrobacterium strain carrying a standard binary vector. In addition to step-by-step laboratory transformation proced...
